I am a lecturer at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) in the Department of Public Relations Management. My areas of academic interest include the political economy of the media with a particular focus on youth media and public service broadcasting. I am also a doctoral candidate at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am currently the acting head of my department, a member of the student disciplinary tribunal, member of the employment equity forum and have recently been elected to serve on the DUT council as academic staff representative.
I am married and I have two daughters, a three year old and a two year old. I live in Amanzimtoti and I enjoy reading about a diverse range of topics. I am passionate about youth development and more generally, contributing towards uplifting my community and society.
