Son of a preacher man and radiographer, I always felt people could see right through me… and so Rotary’s Four-Way Test that encourages integrity really speaks to me. I have lived and moved around the Eastern Cape growing up. I studied in Cape Town and Virginia, USA, supplementing with a few courses over the last 10 years in Port Elizabeth where I have settled with a wife and small child.

I have worked in non-profit organizations, community organizations, health, administration, retail, and media. My primary skills have been building relationships between people and organizations. In 2013 I started my own company, Get Steve, focusing on public relations. (which is still a small part of what we do…). Our focus now is integrating media solutions into businesses and to provide strategy to business on marketing their brands, services and/or products. Good examples of this are VenuTV.com, SavvyShoppa.co.za, and CapelliniFM.co.za. We have used Rotary as our charity outlet because of its effectiveness as an organization, but also recently launched the only comprehensive list of charities in Nelson Mandela Bay: www.TheCharity.Space. And to conclude my charity involvement, I am also the Beggar-In-Chief for The Herald Christmas Cheer Fund, which is probably PE’s oldest charity outreach.

I run. And with that I try to link some of my runs to raising funds for Rotary (my running club, Charlo Athletic, and Rotary PE West now have a great working relationship… and that will continue).
