After experiencing the Alzheimer disease in my own family with my grandfather and experiencing the passion I have for working with old people, I decided to specialise in the field of dementia. I was fortunate to work in a private home for aged where I worked with and around 60 dementia patients in a facility that was state of the art. Over the many years I have been able to accompany many people who have suffered from Alzheimers and their families, evaluating the situation, finding and creating a space as good as it gets for all involved.
I dedicate much of my time to create awareness that Alzheimer is just a disease and that with knowledge we can all create a future in “living well with dementia”. I call my talk “living well with dementia” giving a practical insight of the disease from the side of the sufferer and the caretaker.
